SO here is a proper Katsu report.

Friday morning I got up at 2:30 to finish packing.  Was on the road by 4:30.  Drive was pretty uneventful.  I got to Katsu around 11ish to set up for AA. 

Then I went to go trollify myself, which took forever.  We derped around in homestuck for the rest of friday until I had to come back and take a really long shower.  Then German Sparkle Party happened at the rave.

Saturday, I was in Lithuania all day.  Got up at 6:30 for first AAN panel at 8.  Rocked it.  Then ate something and sat at my art table forever while not making money.  Eventually got up to go to a panel about comics on a budget, then went to other AAN panel (the one run by my bros).  Rocked it again.  Then changed for mafia shoot.

Sunday, I packed, put on Metal!Sweden, and went to the AA for a few hours and worked on a commission until it was time to close. Went out to eat with posse, then headed home.  RAN INTO A BLIZZARD IN VIRGINIA.  Slogged through it.  By the time I got to rain in NC, I was too tired to keep driving, so I spent the night in a hotel and drove back this morning.

STUFF:

• AA was a total bust.  I wound up leaving most of my original stuff at home, accidentally.  I am so good at packing.  I might have made back table costs, but I didn’t really keep track of sales at all other than Friday when I made $23 total.  Completely my worst con for sales.  It didn’t seem like there was much traffic in the AA.  Nobody was coming by, at all…so I was unmotivated to stay at my table.  If I’m only making $3/hour sitting at a table, I’d rather leave and go do stuff with friends. 
• PAX OH LORD.  I’m one of those people who you can’t tell a goddamn thing to because I know better and have to find out for myself what an idiot I am.  The results were great, but getting it on and off took probably 4 hours total.  On the plus side, I doubt I will have to exfoliate again for the next ten years.  Cosplaying Homestuck was surprisingly fun!  I still don’t know anything about the comic but apparently I make a good Equius and running around in grey makeup and horns is weirdly liberating, especially when doing it in a group.  I’d definitely do it again, but I need a solution that looks as good as PAX, doesn’t rub off (my reason for using PAX), and is easier to get on and off…
• Two panels as Lithuania, lol.  My interpretation of Lithuania as a creepy, somewhat crazy stalker makes this really fun to do.  KETCHUP SHOTS.  I hope I entertained others as much as I entertained myself.  I think the 8pm AAN panel turned out really well.  One of the best of the ones I’ve been on.  The audience asked good questions and was really engaged, and the panelist chemistry was very “on,” IMO.  
• Rave was fun despite the second DJ we heard playing terrible, undanceable music.  Apparently I still look like I don’t know what I’m doing.  GREAT.  My defense is that I doubt Austria can dance, either.  (maybe ballroom stuff but)
• Mafia turned out pretty well despite certain lame people not going.  YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
• I feel like I’m getting sick.  Probably because I couldn’t find my sleeping bag under the stuff somebody put it under on Saturday night and was not enough of a dick to turn on the lights to try and find it.  So I just slept on the floor with nothing but a pillow.  No blanket.  Holy shit, I was so cold. 

It was a different con than it was last year for me, certainly.  Last year, I met 90% of the people I have been hanging out with ever since.  BROS.  Last year I also didn’t do AA.  I actually don’t enjoy doing AA’s so much, especially when it’s at cons where a lot of my friends are at.  I never get to be with people except at cons.
